Symptoms of Thallasemia


Some common symptoms of Thallasemia are:
  • Helmolytic anemia- an anemic condition chracterized by the destruction of red blood cells
  • Pallor- unusual or extreme paleness
  • Fatigue- weariness from too much exertion
  • Shortness of breath
  • Blood in urine
  • Jaundice- yellowing of the skin
  • Spleen enlargement
  • Liver englargement
  • Skelton deformity
  • Thickening of the skull
  • Skull deformity
  • Thickening facial bones
  • Facial bone deformity
  • Mongoloid facies- face deformities and facial tumors
  • Heart enlargement

Manytimes symptoms of Thallasemia are not obvious to the paitent and only noticalbe by doctor. Other times the sympotoms of Tallasemia may be similar to those of other diseases.
